Our groups throughout the week are designed to be inclusive, thought provoking, and community driven to best help and support our members growth and development throughout their recovery.

OUR GROUPS

MONDAY MEDITATION

LOCATION: Central Library

TIME: 11:30-13:30

From 11:30-12:15 we have a guided meditation by a trained professional to help relieve stress and clear the mind in preparation for the week ahead.

In the second half from 12:30-13:30 we read a passage from some of the finest ancient philosophers and discuss the meaning behind the passage and how it could apply to modern daily life.

WEDNESDAY TEACHING

LOCATION: Central Library

TIME: 10:00-12:30

Learn about psychological & social theories around personal growth and development, as well as social labels and how class can affect mental health etc.

The first half of this group is lead by a trained professional. The second half is a discussion on topics set by the tutor, leading to new ideas and thinking.

WEDNESDAY GAMES

Starting 19th February 2025

LOCATION: Central Library

TIME: 13:00-14:30

Come along to play some of the best indie/alternative board games, including Quelf, Kluster, Chameleon, Just One, and many more!  

Is there a game you’ve always wanted to play but never got around to it?  Let us know and we’ll try our best to source it.  

The aim of the group is simply to have fun!  (Strictly no Cluedo/Monopoly/Ludo etc)

THURSDAY FORUM

LOCATION: Central Library

TIME: 14:00-16:00

Thursday forum is a structured group including a check-in and some icebreaking chat.

A segment for opportunities within SHIFT (and beyond) and a thought-provoking discussion.

A check-out winds up the group.

FRIDAY ADVOCACY CLINIC

LOCATION: Central Library

TIME: 09:30-11":30

An opportunity for practical one to one support, including the DWP, GP, A2i, energy companies or anything else that needs doing.

Timeslots are limited so please get in contact beforehand to avoid disappointment.

FRIDAY ART DROP IN

LOCATION: Central Library

TIME: 10:00-14:00

A drop in for those who wish to stretch their creative muscles. Art supplies are provided, but if you have a project you’re working on you’re welcome to bring it along.

A relaxed atmosphere with a friendly feel with room for both art and conversation. Tea & coffee facilities are on site.
